Deconstructing FIAT's Online Buying Behavior & Multichannel Retail Strategy

We completed a commercial market assessment for FIAT Automobile covering three territories at once: supply chain workflows, online buying behavior and multichannel retail. The goal was not a report — it was a working map of where the commercial machine loses momentum.

Three lenses, one commercial question

The supply chain lens traced dealer order flows, stock visibility and workflow hand-offs between national sales companies and retail networks. The behaviour lens followed how European buyers research, configure and request quotes online before they ever shake a hand.

The third lens — multichannel retail — is where the first two collide.

What the multichannel data showed

Buyers oscillate between digital and dealer touchpoints many times before purchase — the journey is a loop, not a funnel.
Inconsistent online-offline signals stall configurations mid-journey and push buyers back to third-party marketplaces.
Lead capture quality varies sharply across dealer networks, starving CRM of the data automation depends on.

The output was a go-to-market playbook: workflow fixes, a digital friction map, and a prioritised sequence for integrating channels around the buyer instead of the org chart.

"Omnichannel is not a channel problem. It is a data problem wearing a channel costume."
